About

My name is Julie. The person behind What About EWE.

I have been crocheting for 30+ years. While my girls where young I enjoyed doing crafts. People always told me that I should sell my work. I’ve dabbled in all sorts of needlecrafts, from cross stitch, knitting, tatting, sewing and of course crochet. The joy I get when an item is finished and seeing the recipients face when they open their gift.

Winter is the best season, especially Christmas. I prefer to work with natural fibers, but also work with acrylic (husband is allergic to wool). So this is how What About EWE, Handcrafted Warmth was born. From my love of winter and woolly yarns.

Just before Covid started, I decided to open my store. I mainly make hats, cowls and fingerless mitts. I also take custom orders from time to time. My Esty shop is open from September to March. While my shop is closed I use this time to test new patterns and prepare for the next selling season.
